FIRST SHIFT BREAKFAST/LUNCH
GRAB-&-GO and PREP COOK
The French Broad Food Co-op, located in downtown Asheville, is looking for a full time self-motivated breakfast/lunch and prep cook. We are a community owned grocery store with hot and cold grab and go prepared foods, which we make fresh every day. (NO LINE, NO TICKETS!) This includes breakfast wraps, eggs, vegan options, sandwiches, burgers and more. This is a great opportunity for creativity as our menu is flexible day by day depending on what we have available.
The available shift is 7:30 am to 3:30 pm 5 days a week. Weekends are a must. May consider part time. Shift length may be flexible but ability to come in at 7:30 am is not.
Job Description:
• Sautéing, roasting, searing, soup making
• Knife work/chop prep
• Knowledgeable about health department standard cooling practices
• Stocking, labeling, marking down prices
• Practices serve safe techniques
Job Qualifications:
• Has fun preparing consistent and high-quality food
• Works calmly under pressure
• Comfortable with communicating
• Dependable, hard worker
• Able to follow recipes
• Self-motivated
• Has the ability to move, lift, carry, push, pull, & place objects weighing up to 50lbs, without assistance
• Fastidious about date marking and storing things where they go
• Basic math skills
