What is patronage in a co-op?

• Cooperatives distribute their profits back to their owners, in proportion to their use of the cooperative’s services.

How does patronage work?

• When you shop at the co-op and use your owner number at check-out, we keep track of how much you spend over the year.
• If you have earned a patronage payment, it is credited to your account the following year and you can spend it at the checkout.
