Hey Co-op Community,
You may have noticed a few extra gaps on our shelves this week. That’s because our main distributor, UNFI, ran into a serious systems issue starting June 6 that’s made it tough for them to ship out products to stores like ours across the country.
We wanted to fill you in on what’s happening and let you know we’re on it. Our main focus right now is to keep the store stocked as best as possible.
Here’s the scoop:
-
UNFI is still working to get its systems fully back online after unauthorized activity occurred last week.
-
This means we’re seeing some shipping delays and might be out of a few more items than usual right now.
-
Thankfully, our partners at National Co+op Grocers (NCG) are helping us get alternative deliveries set up, including some special fill-in shipments to keep things moving.
-
We’re also reaching out to other suppliers and regional distributors to stock what we can in the meantime.
This isn’t just affecting us—it’s hitting food co-ops and grocery stores nationwide. But we’re staying flexible and doing our best to keep your shelves stocked with good food and local staples.
What you might notice:
-
A few more out-of-stocks than usual (we’re not a fan of it either)
-
Slight delays in restocking your favorite items
-
Occasional substitutions on orders or local alternatives
We really appreciate your patience and understanding while this gets sorted out. Co-ops like ours run on connection and communication, and we’re committed to keeping you in the loop every step of the way.
Learn how this situation has also affected our truckload sale and special orders. We’ll post updates here as we get them—stay tuned and keep checking in at the store or on social.
Thanks for sticking with us. Your support makes all the difference.
In cooperation,
The French Broad Food Co-op Team
